Chi Charlie Nguyen was elected to the Midway City Sanitary District Board of Directors in November of 2016, and is currently the Board President. President Nguyen is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Orange County Sanitation District and the Citizen's Financial Oversight Committee for the City of Westminster.
President Nguyen is an experienced engineer and a successful businessman. For years, he has successfully managed his own business in the City of Westminster. In his engineering profession, he worked for the Boeing Company, Rockwell International, and B/E Aerospace companies. He worked as a Design Engineer, a Risk Management Engineer, a Project Manager and Manager. His last position at Rockwell was as a Senior Manager in the Department of Engineering. As a successful businessman running his own company, he is responsible for the whole operation, top-down business strategies and day to day activities. As a Senior Manager for large corporations, he managed Supervisors, Project Managers and Engineers. He managed to set priorities with limited resources to produce the best products for the company.
President Nguyen is passionate about serving all member of our communities. As a compassionate community leader, he has been volunteering to work on various projects for the last 35 years. He was an Executive Director for a youth and young adult ministry for 15 years. He organized retreats and arranged schedules for groups to visit juvenile hall, served food to the homeless shelters in Orange County and Los Angeles, and visited elders in nursing homes. He also taught U. S. citizenship classes in local churches for immigrant communities.
President Nguyen grew up locally in Orange County. He graduated from Bolsa Grande High School and obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from California State University, Fullerton, and his Master's Degree from California State University, Long Beach.
President Nguyen truly believes that with his well rounded management and proven leadership skills, along with his passion to serve all members of our community, he has a lot to offer. Yes indeed, he has done it and is well prepared to take on more responsibility to serve the Westminster and Midway City citizens. He has sincere enthusiasm to make Midway City and the City of Westminster safe and prosperous places, and the best areas to raise families, to work and to live in.
